Family Caregivers at Work Education and Support Program
Communicating Effectively
With Healthcare Professionals
How Employers Benefit
from the Family Caregivers at Work Education and Support ProgramThe demands of family caregiving can take a severe financial, emotional and physical toll on employees. Through NCFA programs, you support caregivers in balancing responsibilities at home and at work. This can help them avoid common caregiver problems such as depression and chronic illnesses while also giving them control over both routine tasks and crises associated with caring for loved ones who are ill, disabled, or elderly. This supportive atmosphere may also reward your company financially by contributing to lower absenteeism, turnover and health care costs.
“I’ve learned how to care for myself along with caring for my father, because if I don’t take care of myself and understand what I’m doing, then I can’t care for him.”
Here’s practical help for employees who are caring for aging, disabled or chronically ill family members.
